The IBMA Foundation and the Leadership Bluegrass Alumni group are pleased to offer an Emcee Masterclass webinar, free to the public via Zoom, on Wednesday, November 8, 2023, from noon – 1:30 p.m. Eastern Time. There is no need to register in advance. Just sign on at this link on November 8: https://tinyurl.com/EmceeVirtualWorkshop .

Good communication is important for success in business and life. In bluegrass, being able to communicate authentically and effectively will help band emcees, concert or festival emcees, broadcasters, and influencers in various types of media, educators, board and committee leaders, and more. The Emcee Masterclass webinar will include tips and inspiration from some of the best emcees in the bluegrass world. Up your communication game and plan to attend!

The presenters will include Katy Daley, co-host of the Bluegrass Stories podcast, who will also be serving as moderator; broadcaster and event emcee Sherry Boyd; Dudley Connell of the Seldom Scene and previously the Johnson Mountain Boys; and Chris Jones of Sirius XM Radio, a columnist with BluegrassToday.com, and band leader of Chris Jones & the Night Drivers.

The panelists are distinguished in other ways. Daley was the 2009 and 2011 recipient of IBMA’s Bluegrass Broadcaster of the Year award. Jones was 2022 Broadcaster of the Year and 2014 Writer of the Year. Connell was inducted into the Bluegrass Hall of Fame in 2020. Boyd was a 2010 recipient of the IBMA Distinguished Achievement Award.

Our grateful thanks go to the Eppes-Jefferson Foundation, the sponsor of Emcee Masterclass. A video version of the presentation will be posted in December, on the IBMA Foundation YouTube channel and website, along with the Stagecraft 101 educational videos released last year and also sponsored by the Eppes-Jefferson Foundation.
