Call for Sept. 27-28 Bluegrass College Band Showcase participants

May 30, 2024 | News

One of the best parts of IBMA’s World of Bluegrass event each fall is the College Bluegrass Band Showcase, featuring impressive talent from colleges and universities across the country. In addition to the entertainment value, college band showcases are often a window into the future of bluegrass music as we have witnessed performances from folks like Becky Buller, Ainsley Porchak, Wyatt Ellis, the Price Sisters, Catherine “BB” Bowness, Hazel Royer, and John Meador, among others.

Directors of bluegrass bands and ensembles are encouraged to contact Nancy Cardwell at info@bluegrassfoundation.org NOW to secure their spot in the showcase, scheduled for September 27-28 in downtown Raleigh, North Carolina.

Set times will be on the hour from 6-11 pm on Friday and Saturday night, with a 30-minute break between performances, which means we will be limited to 10 bands for 2024. If more than 10 bands apply, a waiting list will be created.

RETURN to the June 2024 issue of The Cornerstone.
