The IBMA Foundation is pleased to announce that 150 applications have been received from 43 students headed to college or technical training in the fall. The deadline to apply was June 1, and review committees will begin working soon in order to make recipient recommendations to the board at their next meeting July 23. All applicants will be notified by August 1, and we’ll look forward to announcing the 2025 recipients of the following IBMA Foundation hosted scholarships that week:
*Mike Auldridge Memorial Scholarship (for individuals studying the resophonic guitar, steel guitar, or acoustic guitar on the college level, with a bluegrass or roots music focus)
*Gloria Belle Memorial Scholarship (college or technical training assistance for bluegrass musicians and singers, or for individuals studying behind the scenes subjects like sound engineering broadcasting, instrument building, event production, photography, videography, publicity, marketing, or graphic design)
*J. D. Crowe Banjo Scholarship (for individuals studying the banjo on the college level or playing the banjo in a college bluegrass ensemble)
*Katy Daley Broadcast Media & Sound Engineering Scholarship (for individuals studying broadcasting or sound engineering at college or continuing education programs with a bluegrass music focus)
*Sally Ann Forrester Scholarship (for female bluegrass musicians majoring in any subject , including bluegrass music)
*IBMA Bluegrass College Scholarship (for individuals majoring in a bluegrass-related course of study or performing in a college bluegrass band who are planning a career in bluegrass)
*Rick Lang Music Songwriter Scholarship (for bluegrass musicians studying songwriting on the college level)
Thanks to all the bluegrass radio broadcasters who helped us get the word out about scholarship applications this year, as well as all of our “Friends of the Foundation” ambassadors and Facebook friends!

Our goal is to raise the amount awarded for each of the seven scholarships and increase the endowments that fund them annually.
