Project grant report from the Savannah Music Festival

Nov 4, 2025 | News

The IBMA Foundation e-mailbox has been full during the two months with reports from across the country and around the world.

Georgia–
Dr. Jenny Woodruff reports their IBMA Foundation project grant helped to fund one of the most impactful Artist in Residence programs to date at the Savannah Music Festival: Kaia Kater’s residency from September 2024 to October 2025. Ms. Kater performed as part of the festival’s Musical Explorers program, bringing bluegrass and American folk music traditions to early elementary students throughout Savannah. Additionally, she designed and led a year-long songwriting workshop for eight local musicians, culminating in a public Songwriter’s Showcase Concert on September 25, 2025.

RETURN to the November 2025 issue of The Cornerstone.
