The IBMA Foundation welcomes Angela Hammack, of Burlington, North Carolina, as administrative assistant to Nancy Cardwell, Foundation executive director who also lives in North Carolina.
Originally from Danville, Virginia, Angela has lived in North Carolina for 37 years. She has two daughters and a granddaughter, and she says she spends most of her free time with them. “My only connection to bluegrass music is that my dad is a huge fan, so I have listened to it throughout my life,” Angela said. “I am interested in working for the IBMA Foundation because I like working with people and getting to know people. I also enjoy stepping into roles where I can learn something new!”
Angela’s resume includes experience in the insurance business, as well as secretarial and administrative work in commercial businesses and nonprofits. She worked in management for Hollywood Video for 14 years, rising to the role of district manager. Angela holds Bachelor of Arts degrees in journalism and political science from East Carolina University, as well as a BS in nutrition/public health from the University of North Carolina-Greensboro. She will work five hours a week as contract staff for the IBMA Foundation.
“Angela has strong communication skills, she’s a creative problem solver, and her resume shows skills in budgeting, scheduling, marketing, and hiring/training new employees. Angela is very positive, a hard worker, and I know supporters of the IBMA Foundation will enjoy any interactions they have with her,” said Nancy Cardwell.
