Biscuits for Bluegrass fundraising event sells out!

Aug 4, 2025 | News

The IBMA Foundation’s first Biscuits for Bluegrass fundraising event sold out in a brief pre-sale period open to donors, major supporters, and volunteers! The event, planned for Saturday morning, September 20, at the Chattanooga Convention Center, will kick off the last day of IBMA’s World of Bluegrass Week.

If you are interested in being added to the waiting list, please email your name and telephone number to info@bluegrassfoundation.org. We will contact you if extra tickets become available.

Award-winning broadcaster Cindy Baucom will emcee. VIP artists will be at each table, including: Becky Buller and Ned Luberecki (The Becky Buller Band); Greg Cahill and Greg Blake (Special Consensus); Dudley Connell and Sally Love (Johnson Mountain Boys, Seldom Scene, Seneca Rocks); Wyatt Ellis; Chris Henry (Peter Rowan Band, Shawn Camp Band); Jim Lauderdale; Missy Raines and Ben Surratt (Missy Raines and Allegheny); Deanie Richardson and Dani Flowers (Sister Sadie); Pete and Joan Wernick (Hot Rize); and Ben Wright (The Henhouse Prowlers).

Thank you to our table sponsors: Bluegrass First Class/ ATS Records, Sam Blumenthal, Dr. Richard Brown (in honor of the Boston Bluegrass Union’s 50th anniversary and the Bluegrass Music Hall of Fame induction of Arnold Shultz), Katy Daley and Bill Brown, Laurie Greenberg, Mark Schuster, Trisha Tubbs, Turnberry Records, and John Young.

Along with a country breakfast with all the trimmings, attendees will enjoy a Silent Auction and some impromptu music—perhaps after the first cup of coffee or two!

The Biscuits for Bluegrass Silent Auction will launch mid-August online and is open to everyone even if you will not be in Chattanooga this year! We have an enticing list of items—everything from musical instruments, festival tickets, and a Zoom songwriting session with a well-known writer, to gift boxes from record labels and string companies, a weekend at Cape Cod, and a floral still life painting by Kathy Thile (Chris’s mom)!

Those of you who remember FanFEAST from years ago will enjoy the vibe of this fun breakfast event for fans and artists for a good cause! All proceeds from Biscuits for Bluegrass will go to the IBMA Foundation to support educational bluegrass grants (named in honor of Fletcher Bright, Terry Baucom, and Bill Breen), seven college scholarships, the Bluegrass College Band Showcase during World of Bluegrass Week, The Arnold Shultz Fund, annual project grants, the Rosenberg Bluegrass Scholar Award, Bluegrass in the Schools Mini-grants, educational webinars, and more.

The IBMA Foundation, a sister organization of IBMA and the IBMA Trust Fund, is a separate 501(c)(3) philanthropic organization supporting and encouraging bluegrass music around the world, with our focus squarely on the future. We fund programs and initiatives in the areas of bluegrass-related education, arts and culture, academic and literary programs, and history preservation.

Although IBMA created the IBMA Foundation (originally named The Foundation for Bluegrass Music) in 2007, IBMA does not provide financial support to the IBMA Foundation. Instead, we rely solely on donations, grants, and bequests from individuals, businesses, foundations, and others committed to the future of bluegrass to fund the IBMA Foundation’s charitable work.
