The IBMA Foundation announces its first ever “Strings for Dreams Bluegrass Raffle.” Tickets go on sale April 1, 2021. The prize is a limited-edition carbon fiber Z Mandolin, the last of only 25 ever produced, including a Calton case with a combined value of $5,000.

Only 5,000 tickets will be offered, at $20 each or 6 for $100. There is no limit to the number of tickets each person may purchase. Raffle tickets may be purchased at stringsfordreams.com or bluegrassfoundation.org/raffle from April 1 (9 a.m. ET)  to May 13, 2021 (midnight, ET. )

The raffle winner will receive the final Z Mandolin ever to be made, a beautifully handcrafted work of art. The Z Mandolin is a modern take on the classic F-Style mandolin, a fully custom design inspired by traditional instruments. Advanced carbon-fiber materials produce an instrument that is lightweight, durable, and less susceptible to dents, cracks or scratches than wooden-stringed instruments. The Z Mandolin is an ideal tool for the modern musician’s needs. Its carbon-fiber body is resistant to changes in humidity and temperature, making it easy to travel with and easy to keep in tune. It comes equipped with an elegant, custom-designed Calton Case, featuring a beautiful pure-white exterior and stunning pink interior. The case is rugged and road-tested, yet stylish and sophisticated. A portion of the sales from the first 24 mandolins of this limited run benefitted the IBMA Bluegrass College Scholarship endowment fund and the Lee & Ageleke Zapis Songwriting Scholarship at Belmont University in Nashville, TN.

The IBMA Foundation is offering sequentially numbered digital raffle tickets, each including a unique and secure number. The purchaser will receive an emailed receipt with ticket information for verification purposes. Purchasers must be living U.S. residents, 18 years of age or older, to participate and win. If fundraising raffles are illegal in your community, you will be unable to participate (states that prohibit raffles altogether are Hawaii and Utah). Members of the IBMA Foundation board or those involved in conducting the raffle—including staff members or immediate family members of these individuals—are not allowed to purchase a raffle ticket. “Immediate family” is defined as spouse or partner, children, parents, siblings, grandparents, grandchildren, in-laws, or spouses of your children.

Although all proceeds will benefit the IBMA Foundation, purchase of raffle tickets is not a tax-deductible expense (IRS regulation). The drawing will take place in North Carolina and will be live-streamed on the IBMA Foundation’s Facebook page. This raffle has been organized in compliance with North Carolina General Statutes 14-309.15—Raffles. The giveaway is conducted by and benefits the IBMA Foundation.

Remember: the more tickets you purchase, the better chance you have of winning!
