Be sure to join us Friday and Saturday, Oct. 1 and 2 at the Youth Stage in downtown Raleigh, North Carolina, for the IBMA Foundation’s annual Bluegrass College Band Showcase. We are honored to spotlight emerging bluegrass talent from a diverse group of colleges and universities at IBMA’s Bluegrass LIVE festival. Nine bands from seven states will be performing at the times noted below.

Friday, Oct. 1 Youth Stage
5:30-6:30 p.m. Berea College Bluegrass Ensemble (Berea, KY), directed by Sam Gleaves
7-8 p.m. East Tennessee State University Bluegrass Pride Band (Johnson City, TN), directed by Dan Boner
8:30-9:30 p.m. The Mountain Music Ambassadors from Morehead State University (Morehead, KY), directed by Raymond McLain
10-11 p.m. The Tigertown Roots (Clemson University band) (Clemson, SC), directed by Shawn Lane

Saturday, Oct. 2 Youth Stage:
4:30-5 p.m. The Carolina Bluegrass Band from the University of North Carolina
(Chapel Hill, NC), directed by Russell Johnson
5:30-6:30 p.m. The Denison University Bluegrass Ensemble (Granville, OH), directed by Adam Schlenker
7-8 p.m. The Warren Wilson College Bluegrass Band (Swannanoa, NC), directed by Kevin Kehrberg
8:30-9:30 p.m. The Colorado College Bluegrass Band (Colorado Springs, CO), directed by Keith Reed
10-11 p.m. The Lawrence University Bluegrass Band (Appleton, WI), led by student band leader Tashi Litch

An information session on bluegrass college programs for high school students and their parents will be held on Friday, October 1 at 10-11:30 a.m. in a location at the Raleigh Convention Center to be announced. Representative faculty and students from the schools listed above will present details about their programs and make themselves available for questions.
