Spring is just around the corner, and it’s the time of year for those who plant gardens to start leafing through seed catalogs. For those who play bluegrass instruments (or would like to), it’s time to check out the list of bluegrass camps and workshops available this summer. (Actually, some run in various locations year-round.)

Bluegrass camps and workshops are a great break from taking one-on-one lessons or woodshedding alone. They are also a great way to learn from talented musicians and teachers, while making new friends who love bluegrass music as much as you do!

I recently learned from Adam Roszkiewicz, music camp director for the California Bluegrass Association, that registration is now open for the 2023 CBA Summer Music Camp and the CBA Youth Academy. They will take place at the 23rd annual Camp at the Nevada County Fairgrounds June 11-14 in Grass Valley, CA. Info here: https://californiabluegrass.org/summer_music_camp/smc-home/

You may not be aware of a free listing of bluegrass camps and workshops on the IBMA Foundation website at this link. If you have a bluegrass camp or workshop for youth or students of any age, please email the info to info@bluegrassfoundation.org, and we will be happy to include your event.
