Sophie DiChiara (age 13) from near Nashville, Tennessee, attended the Monroe Mandolin camp in Abingdon, Virginia, last month on a Fletcher Bright Memorial grant. The September 28 – October 2 program is held at the Southwest Virginia Higher Education Center in Abingdon, which is between Marion and Bristol. Instructors included Mike Compton, Lauren Price, Chris Henry, Carl Jones, Aynsley Porchak, Alan Munde, Chris Sharp, Vickie Vaughn, and Laurelyn Dossett. Check out Sophie’s video report here.
